Today the class and I visited a local games/comics shop named Ace Gaming in hopes of finding inspiration for our project, as well as find any possible research in the form of board games. This would also provide us with a new perspective to apply within our own project, something that could bring new innovative ideas to the table.
Whilst testing various games, I stumbled upon a rather fascinating game named “Betrayal At House On The Hill” of which has spurred research with it’s interesting use of narrative and story. In addition to the research, this game also helped; me socialise with other members of the class I might not of otherwise, build team morale and possibly helped increase team efficiency – with happier people often being more productive.
Overall, I feel that the trip to Ace Gaming was very successful, with events like this boosting people’s spirits and spurring more creative research – therefore building towards our end goal. Within the future, I would try to access another event similar to this due to how beneficial it was everyone participating.
